Happy New Year to you and your family. We appreciate your patience as
we get this website up and running. We ran into a little snag in
December and didn't have time to completely update all the information
about activities and curriculum. January's site looks much better.
We will be busy this month learning about winter animals. We will
take an imaginary trip t
o
the South Pole and explore the life of a Penguin.
After reading about our
friends we will get a chance
to practice holding and walking with a penguin size egg between our
legs just like the Mom and Dad penguins do. It will be fun to learn
about Polar Bears and we will find their habitats on the globe
also. Using our math skills
we will find out how many Pre-K students tall a polar bear is.
This
month
we will continue learning about Jesus and the Holy Family. What was
it like for Jesus as a child?
What kind of things did he like to play and what did his Mom and Dad
teach him?
We continue mastering our letters.
You will hear us rhyming many words. This activity is a great
pre-reading skill. Work at home to master letter recognition.
Our unit about our Senses is complete. The pre-K students were great
sports as we did experiments with our taste buds. We had lots of fun!
January 12th will be our Primary Peace Day. Both classes will report
in the morning. This i
s
a special day that we use to teach and promote our peacemaking
philosophy. The morning will
be spent reading books, singing songs,
and playing games as we interact with the kindergarten, first and
second grade students. We
finish the our activity by sharing a snack with our friends.
Hope that winter will show up soon so we can enjoy our new sleds and
snowboards!
Thanks for your continued support!
