Object:

The goal of Houghton Mifflin Social Studies is the development of literate citizen-individuals with the knowledge, skills, and civic values they need to become active and reflective participants in the world of the twenty-first century.  This program weaves together knowledge, skills, and citizenship to form an integrated program.  This curriculum is designed to help me captivate, develop, question, and stretch my students.
 

Grade Level Curriculum:

In the seventh grade, students will explore world civilizations and European history from the fall of the Roman Empire to European exploration of the New World.   Our investigation of history will be enhanced by the study of geography, economics, current events, and political cartoons.
