I am very excited to be the new School Counselor at Grey Nun Academy. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming. Thank you! I grew up in Yardley and graduated from Pennsbury High School. I attended Cabrini College in Radnor, PA where I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, I was employed by The Central Bucks School District where I worked with children having special needs. I have also worked as an Admissions Representative for Bucks County Community College, where I recruited prospective students and guided them through the admission process. More recently, I was employed by The Centennial School District and taught kindergarten, third, fourth and fifth grade students. While there, I attended Holy Family University, earning my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. Since that time, I have worked as a psychotherapist providing individual, group and family therapy in both school settings as well as private practice. I have worked with children for 14 years and believe each child has their own unique qualities. Through active listening, I encourage, empower and teach children how to celebrate their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. I appreciate the importance of teamwork and communication with everyone involved in a child’s life to help promote success. As the School Counselor, I want to build strong and trusting relationships with the students and families at Grey Nun Academy. I will provide a sense of safety in a nurturing environment where students know they have the support of someone who cares about them and who will listen to them without casting judgment. The elementary guidance program serves children through counseling, consultation and coordination of services. Please view my webpage for more information on the role of a school counselor, guidance classes, the high school admission process, suggested links and recommended reading. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you who are a part of The Grey Nun Community. Please feel free to call me at 215.968.4151 x106 or via email at lgalietta@gnaedu.org if you have any questions or concerns. |
