The curriculum at Grey Nun Academy is designed to meet the individual needs of each student and respects the rights, interests and personal dignity of each child. Learning methods in all curricular areas foster creativity and stimulate an inquiring spirit.

Our dedicated faculty and staff make the Academy a special place for all children. A contemporary outlook pervades the interaction and instruction of our young people, facilitates the exchange of information, and also enables our students to address, with insight, the multiple problems which face them today.

Accredited by the Middle States Association for Elementary Education, Grey Nun Academy continues to update programs in response to changing educational trends. Continuity in all the academic areas is emphasized in our Primary, Middle and Upper Divisions.

Our integrated Language Arts Program immerses students in literature while expanding language and writing skills in a well-balanced syllabus. Our Mathematics curriculum stresses developing concepts, processes, problem-solving and applications.

Completing our core curriculum areas are extensive Social Studies,  Science and Religious Education courses.
Specials such as Art, Music, Spanish, Guidance, and Health and Physical Education are also an integral part of our balanced approach to learning.

Students from the Upper Division who have mastered fundamental math knowledge may take Pre-Algebra and Algebra classes. Advanced Literature is also offered to students in the Upper Division.

Our Challenge Program is available for students in Grades 3-8 who qualify for advanced studies.

A state of the art Computer Lab and computers in each classroom, with internet connection, provide students with the technological tools necessary in today’s world. Classrooms and the Computer Lab are equipped with ceiling mounted projectors and interactive SmartBoards to enhance this program.

Our Library/Media Center offers over 7,000 volumes and 30 periodicals.  There are 4 workstations for students and teachers to access the computer card catalog and networked files.  The main goal when materials are selected for the library is to support and enhance the curriculum in all grades.
