VISION STATEMENT

The Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools will be recognized by National and International educational communities as the leader in both improving the quality of education through the accreditation process and affirming to the public the trustworthiness of its accredited members for the Twenty-First Century.

CORE VALUES

We, the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools (MSCES) as a community of interdependent members, with our mission to promote the continuous improvement of schools for student growth and increased public trust in education:

• Believe that accreditation is a collaborative partnership between MSCES and member schools grounded in professionally recognized and accepted research-based standards;

• Believe that accreditation requires members to meet uniform standards, through a process which recognizes the unique mission and operation of member schools;

• Believe that the MSCES accreditation process guides the ongoing improvement process by facilitating the member schools’ systemic understanding of their unique strengths and needs; and,

• Believe that the MSCES community has the expertise and responsibility to continually improve our standards-based accreditation process for meeting the changing needs of the member schools by generating, testing, and sharing new ideas and processes grounded in peer review.
